5 Jul 2008: Vilas County authorities say Michael Lenz, 61, of Little Chute, died this week after a scuba dive in the Town of Land O'Lakes. Advertisement Authorities received a 911 call about 2 p.m. Wednesday reporting a diver in distress on Joyce Lake. Deputies found Lenz unresponsive and not breathing. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death has not been determined. … Source

2 Jul 2008: A giant crab weighing an astonishing 17lbs and with claws bigger than a man's hands has been landed off the English coast. The crustacean, which measures 2ft across, is thought to be the largest edible crab ever captured in British waters. Paul Worsley, 39, managed to haul the creature from the sea bed during a diving trip in Lyme Bay near Lyme Regis, Dorset. And the professional scuba diver said the crab which has a 12-inch shell, was big enough to feed at least 10 people. … Source

29 Jun 2008: MANILA, Philippines - One of about 60 divers in the search, rescue, and retrieval operations for victims of a sea mishap in Romblon province could be confined in a hospital after doctors found him suffering from decompression sickness also called the caisson disease. This was the diagnosis of a group headed by Dr Nilo Tayag, chief of the Department of Health (DoH)'s National Epidemiology Center, according to a radio report on Saturday. The report, however, did not identify the diver. The DoH subjected the divers to a series of medical tests to find out if they were poisoned by endosulfan. … Source
